    When was the last time you had a woman as your manager. For me it was the year 2000, and that’s really really depressing.

    Everyone wants to “build” and “create” and be all Ozymandias and stuff. No one wants to “maintain.” We should build more statues dedicated to janitors and sysadmins and mechanics and office administrators.

    This is a great thread, I'd aim this at all engineers. I saw another tweet last year like "the best engineers write incredible Google docs" and I'd echo that too as I read this. Communication (verbal, team, RFCs, etc.) and kindness are more important than pure technical chops

    Protip: unless you're fixing a typo in docs, advertising that your GitHub PR is a low-risk fix because it's a "one-line change" doesn't advertise what you thought it does. It instead advertises that it doesn't update tests. (otherwise it'd be at least two lines)

    The important thing about multicloud/hybrid/bimodal is that whether or not these are good ideas, but rather that in enterprises they're inevitable. The alternatives are to rebuild prior to every merger or never try anything new.
