Mitch McConnell wants to change the law in Kentucky so the Democratic governor can't name his replacement, so let's not pretend he'd be bound by any rules or norms in the Senate if he gets power again.

From my inbox: a reader is looking for recommendations of romantic suspense written by BIPOC authors. Please help? (Please do not recommend romsuspense written by white authors, please and thank you.)

So wait....the guy who pointed out 45 has a small penis is worried about offending Neanderthals? (Also, the anthropologist in me is certain he doesn't know how to pronounce Neanderthal, but I'm not going to track down audio to confirm.)

What kind of troll author has another author's new release taken down because a character name in the book has the same name as their trademarked author name? Toni is an amazing, hardworking author and doesn't deserve this.

This should not be possible. Unless it's a highly specific, self-made, unique name, you shouldn't be able to trademark an author name. This could have broad ramifications for authors...

This is a major threat to all authors. That someone can pull this stunt in the publishing industry is insanity. I’m so sorry, !

Another feel-bad story packaged as a feel-good story. This tweet is more obscene than anything I've ever seen on the Twitter feed of a sex worker or a porn performer. It's an indictment of our political system and our health care system. We should be ashamed of ourselves.

I'm sick of journalists asking Republicans, "Do you believe Biden won?", "Do you believe COVID is a hoax?", "Do you believe climate change is real?" Journalism is supposed to be about truth-telling, not actively undermining the truth by pretending it's up for debate.

the character isn't an author writing in that genre or anything resembling that author. Where is the confusion? It's not like the character's name is Ian Fleming, or even James Bond.

My understanding of trademark law is that it's to prevent confusion...so someone doesn't mistakenly buy something that they think is something else. So we have an author's trademarked pseudonym-in a different genre, & an RS book with a hero who happens to have that name, but

I want to add that I love this book so hard. This is so wrong. It's a brilliant book with everything you want in romantic suspense. And the hero isn't named anything that could be confused with anything else. I have a new author on my never-buy list.
