    This is a really good thread up and down but I'm borrowing it to make one point. We don't need Medicare for all. We need Medicaid for all. Medicare has too much cost-sharing for it to work for a LOT of people, esp. the disabled and disadvantaged.

    After this little binge, my conclusion is this: I can only enjoy the LotR films if I pretend the Hobbit ones never happened. PJ really stunk it up. I know what I said and I’m not sorry for it. LotR was art; Hobbit was... something else. (PS: It’s not on Martin Freeman).

    I talk to my children the way I talk to adults because the only way you learn new words is by reading and hearing them. I understand the need to adjust diction to the audience, but in general, I try to keep it the same.
