    As of midnight Wednesday, Wiltshire does not have a police commissioner & frankly we don’t know exactly when it’ll get one. Important to say operational policing’s unaffected as that’s managed by the Chief. But any urgent new spending decisions or lines of accountability, unclear

    OPCC statement following the PCC election result: While this situation is unprecedented, there is legislation in place for this eventuality and due process will now be followed. Angus Macpherson remains as Police and Crime Commissioner until Thursday, 13 May 2021.

    Seed was 's agent in the General Election - surely time to pin down our Devizes MP? There are serious questions to be answered including who will pay for the rerun. Oh - and what price democracy and integrity?

    That’s it - the election for Wiltshire’s Police & Crime Commissioner will have to be re run, as the Conservative who won today’s count has been barred from taking the job due to an old drink drive conviction

    Regarding the circumstances of the withdrawal of the Conservative Wiltshire PCC candidate, will there be a police investigation? Force says: "we can confirm we’ve received a report relating to this matter and we are currently assessing how we proceed with this"

    Let's call it what it is: an anti-democratic power grab. Under first past the post, a party with minority support can get all the power. It's an absurd system that should be replaced, not extended to mayoral elections.

    Very pleased that Jon Fisher has been re-elected to with commiserations to our other candidates, particularly John Boaler who has served Calne so well since 2017 and was fundamental in getting plans for a new medical centre approved 🌹❤️

    Bravo John! Well deserved!

    Just had the count announced for my (very small) parish council ward on Calne Without PC & elected by 54 votes to 39. I’m honoured that my neighbours have placed their confidence in me & will work hard to serve them to the best of my ability.

    So, a bit of news: I’ve left the Green Party and joined Labour. I realised I always end up voting Labour anyway and Salford Labour are great on green (and many other) issues so it feels like the right thing to do.
