Both are irrelevant. Same thing always happens: rich/politically connected rally around healthcare workers to protect themselves. Middle class are given some money to stay quiet, poor are given just enough to stop them from rioting/starving, then we all go back to normal

Had the same thought this morning. Need to learn more. I hadn’t ever heard of the 1957 pandemic. Of course having 1/20th the deaths of 1918 makes for fewer paragraphs in history books

Yes, odd that nobody writes about it. I am skeptical of the assertions that data from 1918 will predict anything now.
