Arabic speakers: I just came across a word حشاشتي that was translated into "my being". Seems ok in context, but I've never seen it used that way before. I've only seen it used as "Hashish smoker" or maybe even "assassin" but not as "being". Does it sound ok to you?

حشاشة is like “my spiritual insides,” so yes, my being. Syrian relatives often use the phrase حشيشة قلبي، perhaps akin to the deep heart’s core?

It’s pronounced 7ushasha in classical, I think the grass bit is the result of the common pronunciation.

It's definitely common. In Lebanon, I've only heard 7ashishet Albi.
