I’m pretty sure it was you who turned me on to him, induced me to sample. (I could be remembering wrong.) Anyway, I had him on my list and now finally am reading him for the first time (The Twyborn Affair). Blown away by the writing.

You’re kidding! I would love to be listening in. I think he’s funny to boot. “So she grappled her bag to her entrails while tottering on her Pinet heels”. His descriptions of Joanie and her inner thoughts crack me up!

Sometimes in this book White evokes in me DH Lawrence. Maybe because of his botanical references, although White uses flower names for not just flowers but also colors (the periwinkle sea). At least so far, I find her/his relationship with her/his parents to be obscure.
