I'm having so much trouble trying to figure out a way to get my cats from San Francisco to Charlottesville this summer without breaking the bank. Help!

3 cats, no car, and if I rent and drive, it might take me 2 to 6 weeks!

I have at least one friend who is willing to fly with me, but the problem is it has to be specific planes and flying into Charlottesville seems to be a problem (smaller planes).

Why would it take that long to drive? It’s a do-able 3 day drive and an easy 4-5 day drive, I’ve done cross country myself several times. Not with cats so not sure what that adds.

I'm a terrible driver! I might have to rent a car and do it.

I have friends who're willing to fly but driving would be problem because they're allergic. They're willing to suffer for one day on a plane!

Tortoise are better drivers.

I’ve made the drive in four days, driving in shifts with a friend, and stopping overnight. It’s about 40 hrs total, so we did five hours each per day, and rested well overnight. Most hotels have pet friendly rooms, but you can book ahead if you know your route.

Could you hire someone to drive them? College students who like to travel?

I couldn't ever turn my babies over to strangers.
