Good morning. Have you caught your fleas today?

who lived in a skull?
no one but a bee
who lifted a bowl?
a drinker of thee
who dangled a flee
over flame or fire from kindled branch tree?
who took to their heart, a craven desire? Who forgot to see, what they aught to admire? a creature so old and symbiotic to life

I only recently learnt that in the UK it's now thought that the 1660's plague ( 'The Great Plague of London') was spread by human fleas/lice, rather than by rats / rat fleas...

Thanks for reminding me that at least humans have progressed to the point of inventing flea powder.
