It's such a great one. I always thought it was so unlike Velázquez and so perfectly Velázquez.

Like he saw the Rococo before the fact. And then plunged deeper - creating one of the fissures that opened below it and subsumed it in 1789 forever. Only Goya and Mozart “alone am escaped to tell thee.”
