When I was a young boy, I read a story about a "card." I loved the word (an amusing fellow, a joker). Except no one else seems to know what it means or use it much. The dictionary says it's archaic, which is wrong since I use it and I certainly am not ARCHAIC!

I've used it on occasion. No doubt I learned the word from my stepfather, a comedian who wrote and performed for the stage and radio. He taught us about all the famous standup comedians and writers.
