I so enjoy being stunned! I read this poem yesterday. I'd never heard of Bobrowski, which is both embarrassing and wonderful. Love the fact there are great writers I've yet to discover. When I came across this poem, I just had to retype it. Stunning, just stunning!

Thank you for the introduction. Stunning and haunting: great-great nephew of Joseph Conrad; a German soldier in WWII; imprisoned by the Soviet Union, where he worked in the coal mines; East Berliner; died young as a result of a perforated appendix.
