Around this time last year, when the world was somewhat sane, I went to Iran with , one of the best trips I've ever been on. The country was grand, the food was delicious, and the people were so kind and generous. And we had the best ice cream ever, saffron!

I bought these hand printed textiles from a master for such a crazy bargain. The first one was appropriated by my mother in Beirut for her dining table, the second by a friend in SF for hers.
I'm using the term "appropriated" generously!

Why am I posting this now? Because I follow on Instagram and she drives me crazy by posting the most appetizing photos of food, and today she posted a saffron desert that she made. Instead of sending her the usual curses, I decided to remind myself of good times!

Hopefully soon, we'll be able to travel again (if I can afford it) and I can share her insanely delicious food.
