Terrence McNally passed away. I consider his play, The Ritz, one of the greatest I've seen, and the movie, with Rita Moreno as the talentless Googie Gomez, is nothing short of astounding. All I have to do is think about it and I start giggling.

Paraphrasing the line (& maybe misremembering the scene partner) but love when asked by Jack Weston, who's surprised she was in a production of The Sound of Music, and asks which part , she responds "one of those fucking Von Trapp kids." is a hoot in it as well

His range was extraordinary. Tragic notes of “kiss” to high comedy of”love! Valor!” Not many had that wideness toward theatre or life. A Big loss.

What a trove of beautiful plays he left us! I have such vibrant memories of seeing THE LISBON TRAVIATA (so underrated) and MASTER CLASS, among others. Such humanity in his art!
