I’m assuming that some of us are self-quarantining. Other than bubble baths, facial masks, watching football, & sex (with yourself or someone else if you’re lucky), what can you do? Well, read, of course, or reread. You have time for big books. Some suggestions. Add yours.

I'm reading Daśa Drndić's (she needs more vowels) Belladonna, a wonderfully dense novel dealing with an older man recalling the major events of European history in the last century. Recalls Sebald, Magris, and Tokarczuk.

My next book (I hope) is a reread of Leaves of Grass. Why? Because I want to remind myself that America can be great. Whitman made it so!
When was the last time you reread Anna Karenina, Brothers Karamazov, Miłosz's or Bishop's Collected Poems?
Quarantine and read!
