Tomorrow afternoon, I'll be leading a book group in San Quentin. I've been inside a few times (I've even played a soccer game in the yard), and I've attended groups, but I've never lead a book group inside. The prisoners and I will be interviewing Daniel Handler!

It was a wonderful event. It always is. The prisoners are always so engaged with the book. I would say that the most engaged group of readers/students I work with are either prisoners or refugees.
I love !
I agree on all counts. Reading with prisoners brings me great delight. No one loves a book more than a person in prison.

No, no, no. San Quentin was yesterday. Today I men John in the morning and rushed back home. One outing per day is all I can handle.

The waste of human resources in both populations is tragic. Fair dues to you for anything you do to mitigate. Not a strategy to pump book sales.
It was an incredible day with incredible and inspiring people.
