We gave up on printers a few years ago, instead hop over to local print / mail (fdx) with a usb drive et voila = all maintenance on them. Have yet to hit the price of one cartridge replacement.
I've been thinking about just that. I have a kinko's three blocks away. I just don't know if I am able to think of myself as a writer without a printer!
Yeah, I would gladly get rid of the printer on my desk if I didn't need to use it all the time. If I printed infrequently, I would do it at a shop. These days, you can probably phone it in somewhere and have your paper copy waiting when you get there.
