Exactly. They knew about the conditions makeing their way in at take off. The piolt made a call to continue to do the flight. I mean you have Kobe with you. Then in flight the conditions deteriorated. They tried to get out and then the pilot was probably disoriented.

I don't think the passengers knew the conditions of that day, more than the pilot who's tasked with flying the copter. He knows more about weather effects & aviation than the passengers do. It's not like they would have forced him to fly RIP to all of them. Including the pilot.

I agree with you. But alot of times pilots feel pressured to push limitations due to who the customer is. Not saying this happened, but is a reality in that field.
