I agree with Chesa on seeking restorative justice for non-violent violations. I agree with ending opportunistic police stops and ending gang enhancements. I disagree with giving free reign to organized property criminals; I expect we’ll see more harmful criminality from them.

While the effects of hard drugs are generally terrible, you have to explain why you don't also punish: * Doctors pushing opioid pills (actual gateway drugs) * Bars selling alcohol (also can lead to self-destruction) * Shops selling ice cream (obesity kills far more people)

I don't punish anything because I am just a civilian. Alcohol is more harmful to society than guns, but society accepts the net negative because they like to have it available. The rate of serious/mortal harm to regular ice cream consumers is surely much lower than for fentanyl
