You'll never have Auth0's timeliness, horsepower, focus, or economies of scale to deal with this problem; second, dealing with it later will be even more expensive: true or false? I think true.

Probs true! Then again, their posted pricing is high and the stuff we want is in the "call us" plan, so there's a non-negligible direct cost.

You also have to consider vendor lock-in with Auth0. It is not like it's an open standard where a competitor is a drop-in replacement that you can port to.

Possibly interested! We haven't decided to adopt Auth0 yet, though. Think it makes sense to document our story when we're currently in the feeling pain phase?

Back it up! Imho it's not about the cost as much as about what you and the team have time and focus to think about. Less auth to think about means more core business to think about. There's also a culture thing: this sets the tone for handling this sort of thing down the road.

which path provides the best value for Tuple clients, auth is about security, and security is hard to do well on your own. consider offering SSO to a higher tier of customers to cover the costs, SSO is typically a Gold package item in SaaS
