I want to make it clear that I believe strongly in defunding the police and reducing the number of officers on our force. For decades we’ve had an imbalance in our city’s budget, with hundreds of millions of dollars going to SFPD to have them do work they are not qualified to do.
It’s a simple property crime, usually under $950, at the most it’s a citation that will be dismissed by @chesaboudin. Cops know this. So why waste time & money? (And I’ve been victim of both car and house break ins in SF).

I understand the fallout from Prop 47. My point is that if we continue to allow it, it’s clearly going to get worse and more frequent, and that has consequences we’re seeing now - exodus of good people, frustration, and most importantly, continued drug addiction. Disgraceful.
