Focusing on the snake oil that is "psychometrics" makes it more like a spy novel. But it's not the truth. You don't need any outside data when Facebook's ad system will do all that work for you. FOR ALMOST NOTHING.

Beware Facebook attempts to shift the story away from 2 basic problems: 1) FB's design & profitability *requires* that it sell the ability to exploit people. 2) if anyone breaks the explotation rules FB alone makes, it will say nothing until journalists & legit academics speak up

Surely if we take nothing else away from the Cambridge Analytica debacle, it’s the reminder that *your personal data is valuable* (& you’re paying to use ‘free’ platforms with the value of that data)! Every click, like, friend, connection, comment or photo = $ to someone!

Facebook, you're either a media company with liability for your evil content or a utility falsely labeling evil as news. You pick one.

He did it to a lot of people that never got the coverage I did too. What matters is that the TOS has to apply to people without a platform.
