Truly a politician like McCain's legacy is his votes. And any honoring of that person should be a highlight reel of those votes. Let's take a small tour, until i decide to go to sleep, shall we?

Perfect film. If you’re a fan, or student of, or professional in film, this is a must-see.

Now, everyone can proceed with being mad at me at once. I'm heading to bed and cuddling up with my giant tissue box.

Of course there's a place for interviewing and reporting on fascists, authoritarians, liars, etc., but also it's a skill set, like working with any specialized subset of humanity and diving right in without those skills is a terrible idea.

The worst part about this Bannon thing is now that he's not going to be at a festival I've never heard of and would never have heard about, he's going to be all over the news, talking head shows, and hot take universe for *days.*

Now Bannon gets another news cycle of ‘the howling online mob’ and a few more fash get up on their mental mountaintops to mourn Europa. Definitely a big win.

Having interviewed Nike workers, I would hope the company applies this beautiful slogan and Kaepernick’s example to its labor practices.

Happy Labor Day (again) and read about the biggest labor issue going today.

Happy Labor Day! Might want to ask why it's in September, rather than May...

In my thread about how I'd promised that I wouldn't work for NYT (lol) I talked about how respectable men in suits are looking for the proper and respectable narrative. As long as the media keeps doing this, we'll lose to demagogues and nationalists. Stop it with respectability.

This was all avoidable. And our time and energy have been spent explaining why it’s not a good idea to headline a white supremacist instead of stopping an un-vetted judge from joining the Supreme Court or reuniting kidnapped children with their parents. Or napping.

Either way, huge win for Bannon. Once invited, he’d get either attention and legitimization OR attention and claim to victimization. I’d guess he’d prefer the latter, which is what he now has been gifted.

A note to the elites and thought leaders amongst my media colleagues: stop doing things offhandedly and then immediately backing down. Get a backbone, and think before you shoot your mouth off with your most recent brilliant idea.

I'm too controversial for NYT but the New Yorker headlines Steve Bannon? I give up I don't understand New York.

For the record I love what Kap's done. I've kneeled every time the anthem's been played at an event I've been to since he first did that, to remind people of police brutality against black folk. But... late capitalism fucks up everything it can touch.

-Are currently slamming each other on social media using specialized terms no one else understands -Are likely doing some dumb shit right now - Secretly have a strict dress code, but claim it's just how they feel like dressing

Hackers and Rappers have a lot in common: -Tend to be harassed by law enforcement who have no idea what they do -Often pick silly names for themselves at 15, and then are stuck with them at 46 with two kids in school -Get really pissed when you use their government names
