Here's a thread of resources I mentioned in #vnconf:
ShareX, free and simple screenshot and gif, screen recording tool (to capture those funny moments in your VN for ~marketing~)

Replying to
Scrivener, the writing software:
I use its file organization so I don't get all confused between scenes. Also its scene planning layout (like notes on corkboard) for clear story overview. I showed it on my talk and will link the recording when it's out!

Pomodoro: time yourself for 25 minutes, NOT checking your phone/distractions. Then break for 5 mins, then repeat. This was life-changing and how I can work 12 legit solid hours a week on VN after my day job.
This post explains it a bit more: francescocirillo.com/pages/pomodoro

For programmers: use git for version control! Doesn't matter if it's GitHub, GitLab, etc... Just do some form of version control. There is a learning curve. But the time you save in the end is more than worth it!
(I even git my story script nowadays)

The Ren'Py Discord is great for Ren'Py devs, and I ask coding questions there. Even if you don't use the particular engine, their #todayidid channel is a great place to see cool implementations and work in progress.
