But it’s also symptomatic of the fact that Old English studies, like Old Norse Studies, has roots in White supremacy. And if we’re not actively fighting it, we’re complicit. 5/5

I think the fact that Svanberg is an archaeologist makes a difference; we are very keenly aware of the way our work has been appropriated by the far right in the not too distant past.
