Destroying the shelter and belongings of an unhoused person in these conditions, in the middle of a pandemic, in the middle of winter, *while snow is falling* - it's nothing less than an attempt to kill the people taking shelter here, I see no other way to morally parse it.

The unhoused are our neighbors, they are our family members, they are friends and loved ones who have fallen into and become trapped in the widening cracks fissuring our social fabric, and to act as though they are not part of our human family and turn our backs is unacceptable.

Also, I want to be very clear here - if you see people sleeping rough, if you see people sleeping in tents, and you call the police? You are contributing to this process. You are accelerating the next removal. You are drawing a target on these people. STOP.

I would have agreed with this statement completely until this morning when I found out Mike Pence is now broke and homeless. So I now agree with it but with one proviso.

I don't want to derail this and I'm not willing to argue about it, but while I know you were making a joke here, when I say "no one should be unhoused," I really do mean "no one."

The fact that Mass does NOT have true elected representation on this issue is extremely concerning. Campaigning for “housing” versus fighting for housing looks so different!
