    This summer, I built PANE, a live programming environment centered around data-visibility. In PANE, all intermediate values are visible by default, and you construct a program by acting on these values. I presented it at @liveprog2018. Please take a look!

    One bit I learned from that doc: 20 years before designing the Golden Gate Bridge (sorta), Joseph Strauss made the Aeroscope, a 235ft-high viewing platform for the Exposition which held 120 people as it spun and levered.

    I just finished Gary Kamiya's "Cool Gray City of Love", the source of this quote. It's wonderful – 49 vignettes of SF history / psychogeography / etc. But the single thing I find most striking is Kamiya's love for the city. I admire it so much. I want to nurture loves like that.
