What is the difference between Google’s Decision Intelligence Engineering and Stanford’s Decision & Risk Analysis?

Decision analysis is an important component of
#DecisionIntelligence. -
Would you elaborate the way in which DIE adds something new?
-
The sum is greater than the parts. Putting diverse perspectives from different disciplines together with a single focus uncovers blindspots in all of them. Same answer if you ask how DI is different from AI or statistics or reliability engineering or any other component.
-
Maybe I’m being obtuse. My apologies. But the prescriptive practice of D&RA seemed to provide that very solution ~40 yrs ago. In fact, that’s one of its hallmarks.
-
One of the key components of framing is the integration of diverse points of view to synthesize the information they brought, reveal important biases, clarify values and objectives, & then make trade offs based on quality of conditional information.
-
Is this what you’re saying DIE is now doing, or is it adding another dimension that prescriptive D&RA failed to provide? I’m honestly trying to understand the difference.
-
D&RA doesn't cover all of DI. Twitter is less than ideal for detailed discussion, LinkedIn is better, so let's continue there?

Interesting, thank you. Is it more about social psychology and "Kahneman/Tversky"s like stuff? Or it means to make people think broader? Or both? What do you think about ages, when people can perceive it and reconstruct their mind, does it matter?
-
It includes both, but of the two, it's more K&T-flavored. Social psych is still a big one; for example, you need it for decision design with multiple decision-makers.
