every time they have to move hal they just clunk in a big ol molten-salt battery that heats up to 500 degrees and attach......... him? does hal have gendered pronouns? anyway put hal on an umbilical and rush him to the next power outlet

They have the awesome futuristic technology of the year 2001 at their disposal, surely they have invented powerful miniature batteries that can power their talking computer and the entire interplanetary ship for that matter.
