The thing which struck me about The Martian was that the film is an extremely faithful adaptation of the book. As were The Hunger Games and The Social Network

I’d love to see a film adaptation of Ra—feels like it would translate well to the screen. Effects budget would get out of hand fast though.

You'd be surprised what you can write around. Anyway I'd like to see an adaptation just to see how much stuff they succeed in fixing
