Apropos of nothing: the reason you are unlikely to ever see a direct TV adaptation from the SCP wiki is that you cannot, in so many words, "buy the rights" to any SCP.

This means anybody else can create and sell their own show based on your show and/or the original SCP. They can even redistribute and sell YOUR show. I am not a lawyer.

What you are more likely to see is established SCP *authors* making the transition from the free wiki to paid, mainstream, *original* science fiction/fantasy/horror work. This, I believe, has happened a few times.

And that's why There Is No Antimemetics Division Television Show. That's one of the reasons. Okay, that's not the reason.

You still own copyright in your own works, so as long as any given story came primarily from an individual author, they are free to sell the rights to the story under terms other than CC-BY-SA.
-
By "primarily" I mean to the extent that the show is a derivative of the single author's work (or if all contributors to the version that it is a derivative of agree to sell).
