Colours is frequency. I'm thinking the closer to ultraviolet, the more the magic, the red is closer to infrared. However, I didn't know that's what it was until after you used the word actinic which came later, so putting it there the first time might be prettier.
It was not my intention that some colours be more magical than others... will think about this.
Not more magical, just a representation of how much magic there is. Squeezing more chi through a screen that doesn't want to blind you when the stream is brilliant enough to blind you otherwise is a good plan if you still know how much mana stuff is going on. :)
