Serious question. Is Myst playable/completable by modern standards? I loved, and finished, The Witness.

It got a bad rap for being difficult but it is genuinely arcane and obtuse or is it tractable for an experienced puzzle-completer

Riven is widely regarded as harder, but I found the puzzles much more “fair”. Myst’s are logical if obtuse, nowhere near as clear as TW’s

arcane and obtuse. Would be much more viable if it wasn't so hard/unpleasant to navigate the world in general; lots of "clue hunt" puzzles.

definitely no analogue to The Witness's "all info to solve a puzzle is either learned, or within the puzzle", bar those damn bird chirps and the tower

It's easier than the witness, but progress is slower because there are far fewer puzzle. Only one I would consider really asinine.

It's not a hard game, I watched someone play through it in a day. Definitely play realMYST, it's a completely faithful reproduction. Riven is still the better game though :)
