Correction, Leia named her son after the *fake name* of a man she never actually met, particularly not while he was using that fake name

Every single thing in Episode VII makes perfect sense for one second and then immediately falls apart

Han Solo named his son after a guy he knew for about six hours and probably didn't actually get his name

BEN: Myself, the boy, two droids, and no questions asked. HAN: What's your name? BEN: ...

I'm checking the script now. Han Solo consistently addresses and refers to Kenobi as "old man". He doesn't know his name!

This actually makes so much sense that I'm sort of surprised in retrospect that "Han Solo" is Han Solo's real name.

You never know. There's that Solo flick coming. It might turn out he changed it somewhere along the line. Or stole an alias from a mentor

For all we know, Chewie both knows Han's real name and always calls him by it. It's not like the poor sap ever gets subtitles.
