Is there any way to give a phone app access to, like, a device which it thinks is the file system but is empty/useless? Or a mock camera

It seems the solution is "first, root the device", so maybe I'll wait until I have a second device before I risk trashing the first

tbh, rooting is pretty damn piss easy nowadays, it is very rare for it to brick it.
