Is there any way to give a phone app access to, like, a device which it thinks is the file system but is empty/useless? Or a mock camera

It seems the solution is "first, root the device", so maybe I'll wait until I have a second device before I risk trashing the first

It's possible to fake location on Android (although it's flagged as such if the app checks), but other stuff would require rooting
