Three-letter time zone abbreviations are mostly hopelessly ambiguous anyway, particularly since nearly all end in "ST" or "DT"

Here's an idea, just put the UTC offset? Then I don't have guess what the hell "PDT" is and do two time zone offset calculations
I also favour announcing international events using UTC, allowing everybody to convert to their local time zone with equal ease

I read someone once proposed that the hours in UTC be named with some other symbol so you don't mistake them for anything else

so you could say a stream is starting at G:30, and everyone would know (or at least know to look up) what hour G is in their time zone
