Alright I think I'm going to write a brief taxonomy of teleportation models. A few off the top of my head: Crowbar, Comb and Switch

Switch teleportation: the destination volume of space is exchanged with the source volume of space, and they have to be identical in shape.

Crowbar teleportation: a gap is forced open at the destination and the source volume is inserted (probably leaving a vacuum at the source)

Comb teleportation: all the source matter is interleaved with the target volume, killing living subjects unless there's vacuum at the target

Destructive teleportation: whatever is at the target is annihilated somehow to make room for the source.

3-switch teleportation: source arrives at target, target volume "disappears", matter from a MYSTERIOUS THIRD PLACE arrives at source

Shout out to wormhole "teleportation", otherwise known as "just walking through an odd door" (c.f. Stargate)
