I literally don't understand why people write critical rants about programming languages other than Bash

Bash is the programming language which gives you syntax errors at run time. E.g. echo "OK" fi prints "OK" and THEN errors out

Bash has arrays. Trying to use an empty array is an error.

Bash has pure functions, and by "pure" I mean they cannot return anything so they report results purely and exclusively through side-effects
