I literally don't understand why people write critical rants about programming languages other than Bash
Bash created an environment in which Perl was considered a radical step forward in usability and friendliness. PERL.

Bash is the programming language which gives you syntax errors at run time. E.g. echo "OK" fi prints "OK" and THEN errors out

Bash has arrays. Trying to use an empty array is an error.
