This may not be much consolation but I have a pretty good idea of how I should have ended Ra now.

1. Change "Why Not Just" so that Rachel dies 2. Nat+Laura upload the world into Ra, to a virtuality where magic is real

After that, of course, I go and fork the story just before "Abstract War" and rewrite it without all of that Actual/Virtual madness
