the major change from Google Hangouts to Google Meet is that it still lives in the bottom corner of Gmail but when you minimise it it no longer remembers refresh the page, it's open again! eyecatching blue icon! "New"! GO AWAY

it was also among the most infuriating UI design choices ever, absolutely unreal how they managed it, I would never have thought of putting text there or that it would hurt so much

Doesn't Android default to having a giant Google logo at the bottom of the screen now, though? I installed Nova as soon as I realised I couldn't remove it from the built-in launcher, so I don't know if they ever removed it / made it optional
