On the one hand 100% get why The Fifth Season won a bunch of awards but on the other hand I'm like had she written the other two volumes at that point? Because we should know by now that an unfinished story doesn't count for anything

If the Fifth Season had never been continued, it would still have been a gripping, magnificently written sorry with a full arc unto itself and a world that feels full of mystery yet tightly consistent. I don't get the argument that it needs the successive books to be commended?

Conclusions of stories usually are less interesting than the setup. I read the Fifth Season and thought it was very good; I'm in no rush to read the sequels.
