I find it vaguely amusing that in Metroid Prime 2 Samus saves the entire Luminoth world from destruction because she has nothing better to do while she waits for her ship to repair itself

Isn't she investigating all the planets that got hit by Phazon meteors (or something, it's been a long time since I played it)
Only in Metroid Prime 3 - which I still need to play - is it established that Phazon meteors are a repeating occurrence which needs investigating and stopping
