      Your regular reminder that Britain, from 1966-1995, had a Motorail network. Slower cars, worse motorways and less-crowded railways then are among the reasons why it was a viable proposition (but v hard to make work now) on UK rail, but that doesn't stop me wishing that it could pic.twitter.com/tfB1yLEHZj

      Look what you have to do to get from London to Reading. Or Reading to Bristol. Or Carlisle to Newcastle. Or Birmingham to Sheffield
