I ask because that same page had previously been updated on 2019-05-05 and there were no RSS updates between them, so I'm curious as to whether RSS readers might have suppressed what might appear to be a "duplicate"

Alright, I have done some ugly surgery on my RSS feed generator thingum, and those two potentially deduplicated updates have had replacements implanted https://qntm.org/rss.php

It looks like phpMyAdmin, MySQL, PHP and RSS collectively have some kind of bananas encoding issue which prevented me from putting the proper accents in the <title> field of that last new RSS <item>, so it says "Ara Orun" when it should say "Ará Orún"

It's staggering how muddled and ill-explained all of these issues are. No combination of escapes I could find could make this thing work. As far as I can tell, MySQL literally doesn't have a way to escape Unicode in a string literal

"SCP Foundation" appeared recently near the top, but already marked as read. There are also two other entries for "SCP Foundation" and one for "SCP wiki" (same URL). However, I'm using an RSS reader I wrote myself and not released publicly, so idk what others do.
