Is it just me who uses both <em> and <i> on different occasions depending on whether text requires emphasis or mere italics, and sometimes both nested when needed

It's the exact same deal with <strong> and <b>, <ins> and <u> and <del> and <strike>

well, <strike> is deprecated in favor of <del> and <s> There's definitely a difference between <ins> and <mark>
