The "Joint Chiefs" vertex is linked to itself because they talk amongst themselves somewhat. Jack Ryan is linked to himself twice because of a couple of occasions in the movie where he thinks out loud, essentially having a conversation with himself

As ever, this whole thing is massively subjective - what constitutes a "conversation" and what is any conversation "about"? I've omitted numerous small back-and-forths. Like, telling someone to change course and them saying "Aye" isn't a conversation
