The best proof that time travel is impossible is that sixty thousand misconfigured time machines from all phases of future history didn't simultaneously explode into existence at midnight UTC on 1 January 1970

Almost all computer systems measure time internally as a number of seconds elapsed since midnight UTC on 1 January 1970. So if you're jumping through time but you forget to set a destination time, it will probably default to 0, and take you to the beginning of 1970 instead

There's a feature of many theories of time travel which states that you can't go back further than the invention of the first time machine. So you can find out if time machines have been secretly developed by looking for misconfigured ones appearing every 2^32 seconds.

they actually did, which is why there's a microsingularity now in a straight-line orbit oscillating between 0°00'00.0"N 0°00'00.0"E and its antipodal point, which will cause the Earth to collapse completely in several thousand years

Yeah, but they are probably tied to some absolute universal coordinate system, so wherever the center point of that coordinate system is would have matter just piling in on itself...pic.twitter.com/ElwOg5ZKVd
