The first picture is Ultima Thule, a classical Kuiper belt object which has never visited, and will never visit, the inner solar system, the second picture is the entirely unrelated comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko

Also the second picture was taken around four years ago whereas the first is only about 48 hours old, so it is at best an after-and-before

I'm sorry qntm but this is a joke, it's speculated (no less by the scientists on the NH team themselves) that contact binaries are a common form of comet nucleus, and that 67P is a very degraded example. Ultima Thule is, however, a pristine example.
